Jessica P. Cordova (b.1982) graduated from Ateneo de Davao University, Philippines in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree major in Computer Science. In 2004, she started working for a Japanese IT company, and in 2011, she did work for Indigenous Peoples in Bicol. It is with the Aetas that she found herself painting school walls and enjoying art activities with the kids (while pondering upon the most common existentialist questions, of course).
When words fail, paint.
Although art has always been a quiet refuge since childhood, it was not until 2016 that Jessica’s painting journey started through Morning Light Art Gallery and Shop. Her simple search for sources of art materials in Davao City led to various workshops and art exhibitions. In 2017, she took classical drawing and classical oil painting workshops under Galvez Atelier and “Painting from the Inner Spirit” workshops by Ega Carreon in 2018. She has since joined various group exhibitions in Davao City.
This year, 2024, marked her fist ever solo exhibition entitled “Flow in Fragments” held at the Patio of La Herencia, Davao City from June 07 to June 16.
